Alright, alright, I did say the best way is how it is, but as someone mentioned about the England scheme where it's 70% to the loyal, and 30% to a ballot, it could help stir a buzz if say 80% were as it is, and the last 20% were open to a rush of others.

Then there'd always be an element who feel lucky to be there, rather than just caling their right. Two different buzzes.

Goon will sell this out. They have thousands upon thousands of members who struggle for premier league tickets, and when they do it's 6 time's the price.

Will be an xmas present to a fair few too I imagine.

The Goons used to get 10 or so cup vouchers included on their season ticket... don't know if that's the case now or not? My MATE has got three that he just uses for corporate clients... makes an absolute bomb... don't think he's been to a game in 10 years

We all know a Gooner ST holder that couldn't give a fuck about the cup. Get their them to get tickets for us. I fancy we'll have another 5k dotted around the ground anyway.

In 1980 the vouchers were issued on the turnstiles for the league game against Fulham.

The voucher was in two parts. The top half had a letter which was used in the ballot for the semi final tickets and the bottom half was a number which was used for the final.

At that time me and my mate Gary used to go in the West side near the away supporters. For this game we came up with the theory that the club would give tickets to the areas of the ground where there was no trouble so for that game we went in the Chicken Run.

We'll never know if it was a tactical masterstroke or whether we just got lucky but our vouchers with E and 6 on them were successful for both the semi and the Final

Remember the old ticket vouchers that they used to put out in the progs.... wouldn't tell you what game so you had to keep turning up ... we missed out in 1980 because we missed the wrong game

That is fucking ridiculous, you do realise people actually work? So all of those who have put the time in over the years could miss out due to work commitments purely because being first come would show the eager fans? Do me a favour.

I haven't got a bias either as I have missed out on many aways this year, it's a fair system in that the most hardened away fan over the previous 2 seasons gets rewarded.

The issue that needs sorting is the people who buy the tickets with no intention of going and to just get the point, that is the issue that needs cutting out, you could cut that out by requesting whoever buys the ticket will require ID matching the booking on arrival, which they do at certain venues for gigs etc.. However that would be hassle so I doubt there would be much support for that.

If that was implemented it would take a couple of seasons to balance out so wouldn't be an improvement over night. The "issue" is the fact there is a 30 quid cap on away tickets, which is actually fantastic for the fans and should not be seen as a negative in any way.

Fair play to Arsenal on the prices. No doubt if we were at home it would have been full whack.

Should be another decent night under the lights.

Fucks sake man. Most eager? It's a game of association football. So if you have been following the side away every week for 25 years you have to be glued to the blower at 9.00am on the first day of sales to show that you are 'eager' Prat.

old enough to remember the "all night" queues for the 75 semi final outside Upton Park at the turnstiles ,still remember a fella fast asleep in a zipped up sleeping bag at the turnstiles to the south bank still asleep as people shuffled past him for their tickets !

They could do it like England do for away games, 70% go to top points/caps, other 30% can apply to go in a ballot.for remaining tickets....seems like general sale is a thing of the past

I see that side, and there's no arguing with it, it is the best way. I was just selfishly imagining a way I could have more chance of getting away tickets in the future, aside from spares.

There is something in the first come/served, though, as it does see who's most eager, like the old days with bods sleeping the night at the satdium to get cup tickets the next morning.

I reckon our away support will keep on growing every year for the foreseeable..

We've always had one of if not the best away followings for donkeys years regardless, but where so many old school are turning it in at home it's going to be hard getting a look in for the away games.

Re: Carabao Cup - Quarter Finals Arsenal Away 5k allocation £10 each
I know there's no perfect way of selling away tickets, but I'd prefer them to put them up for any season ticket holders on a first come first served basis. Then it's the hungriest who will get them, which will improve the away support, in my humble.
